Priyanka Chopra, in her film career spanning nearly 15 years, has worked in a wide range of Hindi films. From being seen as a glamour quotient, she has worked her way up to being regarded as one of the finest actresses in Bollywood. Having given some of the most critically acclaimed performances in her films, she has become one of the highest paid actresses in the industry and a high profile celebrity in India, whose popularity has extended beyond the territories of the country.
Priyanka Chopra made her film debut with the Tamil movie "Thamizhan" that released in 2002, opposite Tamil film actor Vijay. She was noted for her glamour factor in the film and was reviewed as to have all the qualities to be a star. Her performance also earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut (along with Lara Dutta) and a nomination in the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 2004, she met major success with David Dhawan"s romantic comedy film "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi", alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. But her breakthrough role was in Abbas-Mustan"s thriller "Aitraaz", where her performance of an ambitious woman who attempts sexual assault on her employee, was received with wide critical acclaim, while also earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role, making her only the second actress to win in the category, and several other accolades.

A role that she previously considered out of her depth and took 6 months to sign up for, her performance of the same received wide and unanimous critical appraisal and so did the film.
