Screen Awards for Best ActressScreen Awards is an esteemed annual ceremony of India which commemorates the film personalities of Hindi film industry for their professional eminence. The winners as well as nominations for the ceremony are chosen by a panel of jury members belonging to the film fraternity. The year 1994 marks the initiation of this esteemed award ceremony which is held every year. It also owns the credit of being the only award ceremony which has been graced by the Executive Director and the Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

20th Screen Awards
20th Screen Awards was organized on 14th January 2014 to honour the best films of the year 2013. It was telecasted on 25th January 2014 on Life Ok Channel. The grand event was hosted by Shahrukh Khan. The Bollywood movies of 2013 featured some of the very talented actresses of Hindi film industry who stunned the audiences with their appealing portrayals. The nominations of 20th Screen Awards under Best Actress Category included Chitrangada Singh for Inkaar, Nimrat Kaur for The Lunchbox, Parineeti Chopra for Shuddh Desi Romance, Shraddha Kapoor for Aashiqui 2, Sonakshi Sinha for Lootera and Deepika Padukone for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Chennai Express. The award was won by Deepika Padukone.

Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is a prominent actress and model who is known for her appealing portrayals and mesmerising screen presence. She is noted amongst the leading actresses of Bollywood. In the movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela she essayed the role of a Gujarati girl Leela, based on the character of Juliet form the Shakespearean drama Romeo and Juliet. In the film Chennai Express she portrayed the role of a Tamil girl having playful and funny shades. Deepika Padukone received huge acclamations for her performances in both the films.
