Chitrangada Singh, Bollywood Actress Chitrangada Singh is an Indian film actress who is known for her appealing performance that portrays confidence and uniqueness. She started her career as a model and later joined the film industry as an actress. She gained recognition through her movie Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi in 2005 which was also her debut movie. Among her mainstream commercial movies, Desi Boyz added to her fame and popularity.

Early Life of Chitrangada Singh
Chitrangada Singh was born on born 28 March 1976 in Meerut to an Indian Army officer. She graduated from Lady Irwin College, New Delhi in 1997 and is a trained Kathak dancer. She has always cherished the art of acting. Chitrangada Singh is also the sister of Indian golfer Digvijay Singh. As a young girl, she was often compared with late actress Smita Patil. When she was a Class IX student, she was approached by a filmmaker to play the young Smita Patil in a documentary on the actress.

Career of Chitrangada Singh
Chitrangada started off her career as a model before changing in to the silver screen. Her ad credits include Alukkas Jewellery and ICICI bank. Afterwards she shifted to music videos and performed in Gulzar`s Sunset Point. She came into public gaze for starring in the critically acclaimed film Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi along with Kay Kay Menon, released in 2003. Chitrangada also has in her kitty commendable films like the 2005 film Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow along with others. From 2005 to 2007, she took a break from acting and later made her comeback in 2008 when she acted in a leading role opposite Sanjay Suri in the director Onir`s romantic-comedy, Sorry Bhai! She was seen in Sudhir Mishra`s Yeh Saali Zindagi, in which she plays the role of an aspiring singer from Delhi who goes to Mumbai to achieve fame and money. She was also starred in Rohit Dhawan`s movie Desi Boyz along with Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone where she was seen as an economics teacher. In 2013, Chitrangada also appeared in the movie I, Me Aur Main with John Abraham and Prachi Desai. The movie was a directorial debut of Kapil Sharma.

Chitrangada is also the brand ambassador for Puma, Borges Olive Oil, Airtel, Parachute, Garnier, Aliva Crackers, Taj Mahal Tea and Joyalukkas Jewellers

Achievements of Chitrangada Singh
Chitrangada Singh received Bollywood Movie Award for Best Female Debut in the year 2006. In the year 2009 she also won Young Women Achiever Award by FICCI. Apart from this, she was also nominated for Apsara Awards for Best Actress and Zee Cine Awards for Most Promising Debut - Female in 2005 and for Star Screen Awards for Most Promising Newcomer - Female in 2006.

Personal Life of Chitrangada Singh
Chitrangada Singh is married to Jyoti Randhawa, an Indian golfer Jyoti Randhawa. The couple have a son named Zorawar.
