After some days Devdas realises his mistake and comes back to Paro but that was her marriage day. Devdas tries a lot to convince Paro to run off with him. But here comes the character of an Indian woman. She reminds Devdas about his rejection as well as her mother`s appeal to get married with Bhuvan Chaudhry. Devdas sees his love going to other person and with a broken heart he returns to Chandramukhi and tries to forget everything with the help of alcoholic addiction. Subsequently his father dies and when Devdas and Paro again meet at their hometown Paro tries to stop his addiction but fails. Though Devdas promised her that he will come to Paro`s Place at his last time to get her care.

After some time at the time of Festival Paro invite Chandramukhi and they dance together. In that gathering Bhuvan`s son-in-law reveals the truth of Chandramukhi in front of everyone. He also confirms about Paro`s relation with Devdas. After hearing all these Bhuvan Chaudhury panishes Paro and does not allow him to step out of their house. Meanwhile, Devdas was shattered. He decides to move from his place and travel some places. He takes Dharamdas, who is a trusted servant and starts his tour. In the train he meets an old friend Chunnibabu played by Jackie Shroff. Chunnibabu offers him a glass of wine without knowing about his disease. Knowing the fact that even a drop of alcohol is injurious to his health Devdas takes the whole glass of wine and becomes very sick.

Devdas was dying. He remembers his words to return back to Paro so he gives a last try and reaches to Paro`s house. When he was lying in front of her gate Paro gets a sense and runs to meet him, but the irony is Bhuvan Chaudhry restricts her from coming out of the gate. She cannot see Devdas and he dies.
