IIFA Awards or International Indian Film Academy Awards is an esteemed award ceremony organized by the International Indian Film Academy in which awards are presented to the film professionals of Hindi film industry to honour their artistic or technical excellence. The event was introduced in the year 2000 and since then it is held every year at various places of the globe. IIFA Awards provides an excellent platform to promote the Indian cinema as international level. It is a three day event during which awards are given under different categories as an appreciation to the skills of film personalities in various cinematic arenas.
15th IIFA Awards
15th IIFA Award ceremony was held in the year 2014 from 23rd to 26th April for commemorating the best movies of the year 2013. It took place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, in the United States and was co-anchored by the Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar. In the year 2013, some of the Bollywood movies exhibited brilliant performances of some of the remarkable actresses in supporting roles which gained applauses from critics and viewers. The nomination for IIFA Awards for Best Supporting Actress included Swara Bhaskar for Raanjhanaa, Shruti Haasan for D-Day, Richa Chadda for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Kangna Ranaut for Krrish 3, Kalki Koechlin for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Divya Dutta for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. In the event the award was won by Divya Dutta for the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
Divya Dutta
Divya Dutta is a noted film actress and model who has appeared in Hindi, Punjabi, Malayalam and English films. Through her eminent acting skills she has also earned recognition in the parallel cinema and is known for her dramatic versatility. In the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag she essayed the role of Ishri Kaur and her poignant portrayal garnered huge appreciations.
