IIFA Awards for Best Playback Singer MaleIIFA Awards or International Indian Film Academy Awards is an annual award ceremony in which the film professionals of Hindi film industry are commemorated by the International Indian Film Academy for their technical and artistic eminence by presenting them various awards. The year 2000 marks the inception of this esteemed award ceremony. Over years the event has greatly helped in promoting the Indian cinema at international arena. Since 2000, IIFA Awards are held as different places all over the world. It is a three day event during which awards are presented under various categories as recognition to the contributions of film personalities in varied cinematic fields.

IIFA Awards for Best Playback Singer Male20th IIFA Awards
The 20th IIFA Awards was held on 18th September 2019. For the first time in the history of the IIF awards, it was held in India, in the city of Mumbai. The show was hosted by actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurana who are brothers in real life. The nominees were announced on 28th August 2019. The nominations for the category of Best Playback Singer Male were Arijit Singh for "Ae Watan" (Raazi), Abhay Jodhpurkar for "Mera Naam Tu" (Zero), Amit Trivedi for "Naina Da Kya Kasoor" (Andhadhun), Arijit Singh for "Tera Yaar Hoon Main" (Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety) and Sukhwinder Singh for "Har maidan fateh" (Sanju). Arijit Singh received the award for the song "Ae Watan".

The 21st IIFA Awards ceremony is all set to be held in the Netaji Stadium in Indore on 27th-29th March, 2020. Salman Khan and Ritesh Deshmukh are supposed to co-host the show. The ceremony will honour the best works in Bollywood for the year 2019.

19th IIFA Awards
The 2018 IIFA Awards edition was held in Thailand from 22nd-24th June, 2018. The show was hosted by director Karan Johar and actor Ritesh Deshmukh. Awards were given for honouring the contributions of important persons to the film industry in the year 2017. The award for the Best Playback Singer Male went to Arijit Singh for the song "Hawayein" from the movie "Jab Harry Met Sejal".

18th IIFA Awards
The 18th International Indian Film Academy Awards or the 2017 IIFA Awards took place on 14th-15th July, 2017. It was held in MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The ceremony was hosted by Director Karan Johar and Actor Saif Ali Khan. The nominations for the category of Best Playback Singer Male were Amit Mishra for "Bulleya" (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil), Armaan Malik for "Besabriyaan" (M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story) , Arijit Singh for “Channa Mereya" (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil), Diljit Dosanjh for "Ikk Kudi" (Udta Punjab).The award was bagged by Amit Mishra.
