Arijit Singh is a noted Bollywood singer who started his musical journey in celluloid with the singing reality show Fame Gurukul. He has sung some of the most popular songs not only in Bollywood but also in regional cinema.

He was amongst the top six contestants of the song based reality show Fame Gurukul in the year 2005. He has also worked with many famed musicians and later started freelancing. He has won a number accolades including the Filmfare Awards for his phenomenal singing.

Early Life of Arijit Singh
Arijit Singh was born on 25th April 1987 in the Murshidabad city of West Bengal. He is a trained classical singer. He performed in several stage shows before stepping into the celluloid industry. He entered the entertainment world in 2005 with the singing reality show Fame Gurukul. During this time he was still studying in college. Although Arijit Singh could not win the competition he earned recognition and appreciations from the viewers. After finishing the show he settled in Mumbai in the year 2006. Subsequently, he participated in another reality show known as 10 ke 10 le gaye dil and won the show on the basis of audience votes. Since 2006-07 he began working with Tips Industries, one of the biggest corporate houses in the realm of music.

Career of Arijit Singh
Arijit Singh got his first break as a playback singer from the famed music director trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy. He sang one of their songs `All For One` from the music album of High School Musical 2 (Vol 1). Later he started playback singing for a number of Bollywood films. In 2013 his songs in the Bollywood blockbuster Aashiqui 2 earned him huge success as a singer. His songs in the movie, especially `Tum Hi Ho` gained overwhelming appreciations and popularity. Afterwards he lent his voice in a several other Bollywood flicks such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Ram Leela, Mickey Virus, R... Rajkumar, Yaariyan, Gunday and many more in which he worked with many accomplished music directors of the Hindi film industry.

Apart from Bollywood, Arijit Singh has also ventured in the regional cinema and television. He sang a number of songs for the Bengali film industry. He has sung the title song of Indian Television shows Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and Dadagiri. He has sung the title track of Bengali television show `Tomay Amay Mile` along with Ujjaini Mukherjee. He has also performed in MTV Unplugged Season 2 and Season 3.

Arijit Singh has won a number of awards for his appealing singing. He has received Mirchi Music Awards, Star Screen Awards, Star Guild Awards, GIMA, Filmfare Awards and Zee Cine Awards for his singing in various movies.
