Fotu La Pass

The Fotu La Pass is known to be the highest point on the Srinagar-Leh highway.

Fotu La Pass, Zaskar RangeSituated at an altitude of 4,108 m in the Himalayan Zanskar Range, the Fotu La Pass is known to be one of the two high mountain passes between Leh and Kargil, the other being Namika La. Traversing the Srinagar- Leh highway, one can reach the mountain pass of Fotu La and after crossing the pass, moving eastwards there is a Prasar Bharati television relay station serving Lamayuru.

The road to the Fotu La Pass is tightly hair pinned with sharp curves and on the way to the summit, the travellers can enjoy the picturesque view of the surrounding landscape and the green oasis of the passes.
