Fauna of Jaipur Zoo
Birds like Peacocks, Pheasants, Ducks, Geese, Lorries, Love Birds, Vulture, Pelican, Crane, Cockatoo, Painted Stork, Budgerigar, White Ibis, White Stork, Emu, Teetar, Pink Flamingo, Owl and Guinea Hen are also existent. The mammals who are offered refuge here include Lions, Tigers, White Tigers, Jackals, Hyenas, Black Bear, Leopards, Foxes, Sambhar, Spotted Deer, Indian Civet, Wild Boar, Baboon, Himalayan Bear, Black Panther, Monkey, Chinkara, Indian Porcupine, Blackbuck, Chital Deer, Hog Deer and others. The reptiles preserved here consist of Crocodile, Ghariyal, Indian Python, Tortoise and Turtle.
Jaipur Zoo belongs to the conservation breeding projects of the Government of Rajasthan as well as the Central Zoo Authority, especially for animals like Crocodile, Ghariyal and the Chital. The zoo occupies an area measuring about 35 acres.
