Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut is given by Filmfare in its annual Filmfare Awards, to the female debutant actor who delivers the most impressive performance in his first Hindi film released in the preceding year. With the talent, the actor appeals to the audience marking a gracefully promising presence in the Hindi film industry. The award to recognise newcomer actors was introduced by Filmfare as ‘Sensational Debut of the Year Award’ in 1989. Later in 1996, the award was segregated into two, one for the debutant (male newcomer) actor Best Male Debut and the other for the debutant (female newcomer) actor Best Female Debut.

The 1st Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut was won by Juhi Chawla for the movie ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ in 1989. Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone have all won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. In 2019, Sara Ali Khan has won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for the movie ‘Kedarnath’.
