In earlier days she was a model. She did her schooling from Dow Hill School and later completed from Loreto, Darjeeling along with her older sister Ashu who is a successful model. Mahima had won a beauty pageant in Darjeeling. She began working in commercials and appeared in Wall`a ice cream. Mahima once appeared with Aishwarya Rai in a Pepsi commercial. Later she appeared as a VJ on music channels.

Mahima Chaudhury`s Film Career
The Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhury made her debut in Subhash Ghai`s `Pardes` in 1997. The movie went to become a huge hit. In that film she portrayed the role of Ganga. She was the love interest of two men played by Shah Rukh Khan and Apoorva Agnihotri. She was chosen to be the female lead among about 3,000 applicants who auditioned for `Pardes`. She acted in Dhadkan in the year 2000, Dil Kya Kare in 1999. She also won acclaims on her role as Kavita Kishore, the devoted wife of Ajay Devgan in Dil Kya Kare. This film helped her to achieve the second Filmfare nomination. She was also nominated for her performances in Dhadkan and Dobara. She was excellent in `Daag, The Fire` and `Pyar Koi Khel Nahin`. Unfortunately many of her films have not done well.

Mahima Chaudhury`s Personal Life
Mahima always wanted a stable life and seems to have found her niche on reel as well as in real life. In the year 2006 the actress married Bobby Mukherjee who is a high profile Mumbai Architect. They did it in total secrecy. Later Mahima gave birth to their girl Aryana.

Indian movie actress Mahima Chaudhury is a talented star who was awarded even in her first performance on silver screen. In the year 1998 the actress won Filmfare award as best female debut in `Pardes`. She also won the Zee Cine award as best female debut and LUX face of the year for the same film in 1998. The Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhury was nominated as Star Screen best actress in a supporting role for `Dhadkan` Zee Cine award for the film `Dobara`. For `Dhadkan` she won Bollywood movie award as best supporting actress.
