Ayesha Takia, Bollywood ActressAyesha Takia is a popular Bollywood film actress from India who had made her acting debut with the film Abbas-Mustan`s Taarzan: The Wonder Car in the year 2004. The actress won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for the film. After that she has appeared in several other Hindi films which have improved her popularity amongst the youth in the country. In 2006, Ayesha Takia appeared in the role of a young widow in the film Dor, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. Her performance was praised by the viewers and the critics alike. With her 2009 release Wanted, starring Salman Khan and directed by Prabhu Deva, Ayesha Takia delivered her biggest commercial hit and received immense success.

Early Life of Ayesha Takia
Ayesha Takia was born on April 10, 1986 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She comes from a mixed family. Her father Nishit is a Gujarati and her mother Faridah is partly British and Maharashtrian. She studied at the Anthony`s High School but later dropped out to start her career in her career in show business. She started learning English at her home and learnt languages like Hindi and Telugu for her films. She has a younger sister Natasha who was born in the year 1988.

Ayesha Takia was first featured in a Complan advertisement during her early childhood years. Later she had her first brush with acting in Falguni Pathak`s music album "Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye" at the age of fifteen. She started to grab the attention of different film makers with her appearance in the music album "Shake It Daddy" and started to get offers for different movies. She debuted with the movie Socha Na Tha and then for Tarzan: The Wonder Car. The delay in the production of the movie, Socha Na Tha with Abhay Deol meant that her first movie in a leading role came with Tarzan: The Wonder Car for which she got appreciation from critics as well as film producers and directors. With her film Dor directed by Nagesh Kukunoor in 2006, she could bring her flair for sombre acting on the forefront. In the movie her acting skill alongside Shreyas Talpade was highly appreciated. This film indeed paved the golden path for her in the Bollywood Film Industry.

Some of her notable performances in movies include Dil Maange More, Shaadi No. 1, Kya Love Story Ha, Fool and Final, Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love and so on. Ayesha`s recent releases were Wanted with Salman Khan, Paathshala co starring Shahid Kapoor and 8 x 10 Tasveer in which she played her first negative role. She appeared in one Telugu film Super with actor Akkineni Nagarjuna. In 2011, her latest movie Mod released which was directed by Nagesh Kukunoor and starred MTV VJ Rannvijay. The film was critically acclaimed but failed to be commercially successful.

On 1 March 2009, Ayesha Takia married Farhan Azmi, a restaurateur and the son of politician Abu Azmi, a Samajwadi Party leader.

Ayesha Takia`s performance in the movie Tarzan: The Wonder Car earned her the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004. In 2006 Ayesha was amongst the top 10 desirable women of India, a survey that was conducted by Zoom and an Indian TV channel. In the year 2007, she received several other awards like Star Screen Award Best Actress (Critics) for Dor, Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award for Dor, Bengal Film Journalists` Association Awards, Best Actress for Dor and Zee Cine Critics Award- Best Actress for Dor.
