Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue is presented by Filmfare in its annual Filmfare Awards, to the person who writes and finalises the most excellent, eloquent and humorous dialogues in a Hindi film of the preceding year. The category of Best Dialogue was introduced in the awards in 1959, five years after their inception in 1954.

Eminent poet and lyricist Gulzar holds the record for most number of wins in the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue, having 4 wins under his belt. He is followed by Rahi Masoom Reza, Aditya Chopra and the duo of Rajkumar Hirani & Abhijat Joshi, who all have won the award 3 times. Writers Rajinder Singh Bedi, Wajahat Mirza, Kader Khan, Akhtar ul Iman and Javed Akhtar have won the award twice. Dr. Achla Nagar is the only woman so far to have won this award.
Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue at 61st Filmfare Awards
The 61st edition of Filmfare Awards of 2016 recognised the film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ of 2015 with the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue, for its catchy and humorous dialogues and their writer Himanshu Sharma was presented the award.
