He is the current chairman of a well-known production house of Bollywood, Yash Raj Films (YRF). Aditya Chopra is the eldest son of Yash Chopra and is popularly known as "Adi". He is known to be a workaholic and always stayed away from the social scene.

Early Life of Aditya Chopra
Aditya Chopra was born on 21st May 1971. He is the elder son of the late filmmaker Yash Chopra and Pamela Chopra. He completed his schooling from Bombay Scottish School and then graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics.

Aditya Chopra had started his career as a screenplay writer. He had also assisted his father in many of his productions like Chandni, Lamhe and Darr, but while assisting his father in "Parampara" he decided to plunge into film making. At the age of 23, he made his debut as a film director with the film "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge". The film became a blockbuster and played in theatres for almost a decade. His second film "Mohabbatein" was also a huge hit that sensitively handled the intricacies of life. He has written stories and screenplays for many of his father"s production like "Veer-Zaara", "Dil To Pagal Hain" etc. All are super hit and received huge critical acclaim. Aditya Chopra has taken his father"s banner Yash Raj Films to new heights by producing many super hit blockbusters like "Dhoom", "Hum Tum", "Salaam Namaste", "Veer Zaara" and "Bunty Aur Babli". Aditya Chopra has one of the most charismatic success stories in the history of Indian Cinema who is constantly trying to take Yash Raj Films to new height and explore new horizons.

Awards and Achievements of Aditya Chopra
Aditya Chopra has won many awards in almost all of his works. He has won Filmfare awards as Best Director for "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge". He won every conceivable award for this film, including the President`s Gold Medal for the Best Popular Film providing wholesome entertainment. He has also won the Filmfare Award for Best Story and Best Dialogue for "Veer-Zaara". The Directorate of Film Festivals has awarded him the National Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema, on three separate years (1995, 2005, 2007) through the Government of India.

Personal Life of Aditya Chopra
In 2001, Aditya Chopra married his childhood friend Payal Khanna, but later got divorced. He is married to actress Rani Mukherji in a private wedding ceremony in 2014. The couple has a daughter named "Adira".
