Laaga Chunari Mein Daag , Indian Movie`Laaga Chunari Mein Daag`, the Indian movie is directed and partly produced by `Parineeta` famed Pradeep Sarkar. `Laaga Chunari Mein Daag` can be called a story of three women. Of course, the focus is primarily on Rani`s character, Konkona and Jaya Bachchan too have ample footage in the narrative. The protagonist at the center of the story is a woman who sacrifices her own good for the better of her family. To sum it up this is a fairly watchable film. Its story has an emotive appeal, its music is non-intrusive and cinematography is enchanting. The Bollywood movie is not the repressive tales of self-sacrificing Bharatiya Nari, rather it tells the tale of a smart girl who is well crafted. The story is visually rich and quite credible that anyone can empathize with. The film sometimes is depressing but overcome it in a suitable way.

Synopsis of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag
The Indian movie `Laaga Chunari Mein Daag` is a story that tells the tale of a family which shares with at least some houses in the country. Vaibhavari Sahay affectionately called Badki played by Rani Mukerji and Shubhavari Sahay, affectionately called Chutki played by Konkona Sen Sharma are the daughters of Shivshankar Sahay played by Anupam Kher and Sabitri played by Jaya Bachchan. They live together on the banks of the Ganga in Varanasi. Life is full of happiness and joy for the two, though the family is relatively poor. Badki especially is protective of her family and is determined to ensure Chutki completes her education. Badki and Chutki live a fun-filled life in Banaras, playing pranks, sneaking off to see a forbidden mujra, and soaking up all the excitement that goes on the ghats of the Ganga.

Badki is a fun-loving girl. She has eyes as crystal clear and innocent as the waters of the sacred Ganga. Her life is full of laughter and the love of her family. Chutki is a spunky spirited and crazy young girl, with eyes that sparkle with mischief. Playing pranks on her poor victims, teasing her sister Badki, and harassing her parents are her favourite pastimes, but she also loves her family with a fierce passion. She is innocent and protected from the harsh circumstances of her family by Badki and their mother. Their father Shivshankar Sahay is a retired professor of Economics who has turned bitter and pessimistic after his pension was unfairly suspended. Instead of fighting against the resulting poverty, he has accepted defeat, and hopes that the numerous lottery tickets he buys will land him a fortune that will bring back the glorious days of the past. He vents his frustration on his family, and particularly his elder daughter Badki, as he believes that things would have been different had she been born a son. Badki feels deeply hurt with her father`s word. Butt unfortunately cannot do anything to reverse this blame.

Their mother Sabitri is the backbone and anchor of the Sahay family. She bears the brunt of every crisis the family encounters. She is dismayed as she sees her husband turn bitter with his failures and turn away from the family. She tries every means and stitch clothes in nominal prize to earn money to survive. She works hard, making both ends meet, protecting her daughters. But her husband`s illness is the last straw that breaks her spirit. Alone, bewildered, she leans hard on Badki, her only solace. In her crisis, she does not realize when Badki has reached her own breaking point.

Badki is aware that the family is in desperate straits, but she and her mother protect Chutki at all costs. When problems crop up, she takes them in her stride, not letting them tarnish her smile. When the situation goes from bad to worse and her studies are stopped, she helps her mother to keep things going. Lastly Badki decides to go to Mumbai and seek a living for the family. Her father strongly opposes Badki`s departure for the big city, predicting that she will fail to achieve anything. Alone and unsupported in the midst of the urban jungle of Mumbai, Badki battles with dark forces, keeping her focus on her purpose to support her family and continue Chutki`s education. She faces all odds with exemplary courage. And she does not hesitate in paying the highest price to support her family. She deliberately morphs into someone else, leading a secret life full of cloudy compromises. She is forced to become the exclusive call girl `Natasha`. Misleading her family, by telling them she is an event planner and sending them money for her father`s medicines and to keep the family home from being foreclosed on, Badki hides her secret. Savitri is the only one who bears the burden of the terrible knowledge of Badki`s enormous sacrifices.

Laaga Chunari Mein Daag , Indian Movie In other part of the film there is Rohan played by Abhishek Bachchan who is a highly educated and world-renowned attorney, sought after throughout the world for his expertise. However, inside this suave and smart young man resides a mischievous, impish spirit. When he encounters Badki he likes Badki`s innocence. He is intrigued by her homegrown wisdom and her deep faith too. This chance encounter leads to a bit of stolen time for both, when the child inside Badki makes her acquaintance with the imp inside Rohan. Both of them forget the rest of the world as they revel in each other`s company. But the harsh realities of their lives intervene, and the magic is shattered. Badki leaves him as she is afraid that Rohan would be disgusted by her profession.

When Chutki comes to Mumbai to work, things take a dramatic turn. Badki`s life turns as she has to hide her secrets from Chutki. Chutki finds success at work, and love that delights her heart. Gifted with a sharp and intelligent mind, Chutki is unaware of the sacrifices Badki is making to keep her education going. When she moves to the big city, she finds a wide open sky to open her wings and soar. Chutki meets Vivaan in her workplace.Vivaan is a rude, messy and mannerless guy. He is irreverent, totally laidback, yet very good at what he does. He is witty and humorous and loves a laugh, wherever and by whichever means he can get it. Being the urban youth of today , he does not have a clue as to how the rest of India lives. So when Chutki joins his advertising agency, `Matrix Advertising` he dismisses her as a small town girl. But Chutki`s spunk, spirit, and insights blow him away. They fall in love. Vivaan and Chutki`s chemistry is so potent; they set off sparks when they are in the same room. For her, he is willing to go to the end of the world, or on his knees.Chutki excels at work, and actually finds a man in Vivaan who loves her with all her madness and eccentricities.

Badki on the other hand battles menace and blackmail alone, not letting these dark shadows fall on Chutki or her family. But her dual life is revealed, and the two sisters are face to face, in a confrontation neither had expected. But chutki understands the whole thing and feels sorry for her sister. By that time Chutki and Vivaan decide to marry each other. On hearing about Chutki`s marriage Savitri becomes happy but she requests Badki not to come to Varanasi. Badki understands her mother`s plight and decides not to come in the marriage. However, Chutki does not hear anything and bring Badki along with her.

The two sisters return to Banaras when Badki also comes face to face with Rohan, as he is revealed to be Vivaan`s elder brother. Old feelings resurface between the two and eventually Rohan asks Badki to marry him. Badki refuses, feeling that Rohan would never accept her after knowing her profession. Chutki convinces Badki to think about her happiness for once and accept his proposal. During the conversation Shivshankar, Sabitri and Chutki finally face the lies and secrets realising what Badki sacrificed for the family. Badki reveals her profession to Rohan who shocks her by announcing that he knew from the moment he saw her with her client in Zurich, that she was a call girl. Despite that he still wants to marry her in which Badki readily accepts finally gaining the happiness she has sought for. The celebrations commence, except there is a double wedding instead. Shivshankar finally gets two sons instead of two son-in-laws.
