India. As a lyricist he attained fame with the title track of the same film. He has been associated with films like Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Bunty Aur Babli, Khosla Ka Ghosla and others.

Early Life of Jaideep Sahni
Jaideep Sahni was born in the year 1968 in New Delhi. He grew up in the same city and was popular as JD among his friends. He completed his higher education from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Bidar, where he earned much respect for his intelligence. However during that phase of his life, he was not much interested in Hindi films. As a youngster he had a quite nature. Initially he began his career as a Computer Engineer and worked with the company NIIT.

Career of Jaideep Sahni
Jaideep Sahni began exploring the entertainment world as a lyricist after attending the jam sessions with Palash Sen who is associated with the rock band Euphoria. He turned to be a screenwriter when he discovered the screenplay for film Gandhi in a New Delhi bookshop at the age of 27. He made his cinematic debut as a screenwriter in the year 2000 with the movie Jungle which was directed by Ram Gopal Verma. Although the film was successful commercially, it failed to grab the attention of critics. Sahni also wrote the lyrics for the songs of the movie. However his second venture Company earned critical as well as commercial success and received a number of Filmfare nominations. Subsequently he worked with the critically acclaimed director Dibakar Banerjee for the film Khosla Ka Ghosla. The film was lauded by the critics and also received considerable success at the box office. He joined Yash Raj Films as a screenwriter and worked for the movie Bunty Aur Babli under the direction of Shaad Ali. The film was not only a major box office success but also marked to be a major breakthrough in the career of Abhishek Bachchan.
Jaideep Sahni, Bollywood Personality
Jaideep Sahni also authored the script for Shimit Amin`s Chak De! India starring Shahrukh Khan. The film was one of the biggest hits of the year 2007 and met with positive reviews from critics. Anil Mehta directed Aaja Nachle was his next project which could not attain success at the box office. Later he wrote the screenplay for the movies Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Shuddh Desi Romance. Movies for which Jaideep Sahni worked as a lyricist enlist Naach, Bluffmaster!, Salaam Namaste, Bunty Aur Babli, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Dum Maaro Dum, Shuddh Desi Romance and many more. Some of the hit melodies penned by him include `Maula Mere Lele Meri Jaan` and the title track of Chak De India, `Chak De Phattey` from Khosla Ka Ghosla, `My Dil Goes Mmm` and the title track of Salaam Namaste and others. He has worked with prominent playback singers and music directors of Bollywood.

Achievements of Jaideep Sahni
Jaideep Sahni was awarded with the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue and Filmfare Award for Best Story for the film Company in 2003. In 2007 he also won Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay for the movie Khosla Ka Ghosla. He bagged the IIFA Award for Best Story for Chak De! India in 2008.
