Shooters in IndiaShooters in India have given birth to a fresh new class of sports icons for the country. Shooters in India have blazed the shooting ranges to come home with a tally of more than 50 medals in Commonwealth, Asiads and Olympics.


Indian Male Shooters

Indian Male ShootersIndian Male sport Shooters includes Abbas Ansari, Mohammed Asab, Baba Prithvirajendar Singh Bedi, Vikram Bhatnagar, Maharaja Bhim Singh II, Abhinav Bindra and many others.

Abbas Ansari : Abbas Ansari is an Indian shooter, in Air rifle shooting. Abbas Ansari is a gold medalist national-level shooter and now he will contest from Ghosi on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)`s ticket for UP election 2017. He is the elder son of Mukhtar Ansari who is currently the MLA from Mau.

Mohammed Asab : Mohammed Asab is an Indian shooter who competes in the double trap event. In the same event, he won the bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Baba Prithvirajendar Singh Bedi : Baba Prithvirajendar Singh Bedi is an Indian professional skeet shooter and has represented India at the Commonwealth Games in 2006 in Australia and in Glasgow in 2014. He has represented India in several world cups and Asian shooting championships.

Vikram Bhatnagar : Indian Male ShootersVikram Bhatnagar is an Indian Shooter. He won the silver medal in the Men`s Double Trap with Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. In this process he was able to make a good score and carried the team to the silver medal. He is an MBA Graduate and has interests in Hotels and Construction as well.

Maharaja Bhim Singh II : Maharaja Bhim Singh II was the last ruling Maharaja of the princely state of Kotah from 1940 to 1947.

Abhinav Bindra : Abhinav Bindra is haling from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He is an Indian professional shooter and businessman and is a World and Olympic champion in the 10 m Air Rifle event.

Prithipal Chatterjee : Prithipal Chatterjee is an Indian former sports shooter. He competed in the 50-meter rifle, prone event at the 1972 Summer Olympics.

Joydeep Karmakar : Indian Male ShootersJoydeep Karmakar is hailing from Kolkata, West Bengal. He is an Indian shooter. He became a Junior National Champion in his first Nationals in 1994. He qualified to represent India at 2012 Summer Olympics in Men`s 50m Rifle Prone event.

Sen Keshav : Sen Keshav is an Indian former sports shooter. He competed in the trap event at the 1960 Summer Olympics.

Imran Hassan Khan : Imran Hassan Khan is an Indian shooter. He is hailing from Bareily, Uttar Pradesh. He won a gold model at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, combining with Gagan Narang to win the pairs 50-metre rifle event. A member of the Indian Army, he has also won medals at the South Asian Games, as well as a bronze medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, in the men`s 50-metres rifle three positions team event.

Mairaj Ahmed Khan : Mairaj Ahmed Khan is hailing from Khurja in Bulandshahar District. He is an Indian shooter in the shotgun skeet discipline. He won the Olympics quota in the Shotgun Skeet Event in Lonato, Italy in September 2015, the first Indian to qualify in this particular discipline. In 2016, he won silver at ISSF World Cup held in April in Rio de Janeiro, the host country for 2016 Olympics.

Moraad Ali Khan : Moraad Ali Khan is one of the top sports shooters of India who is widely credited for bringing India to the world shooting map. He was awarded the Arjuna award in 1996. He won gold medal at the Manchester Commonwealth Games and many other international medal at the Asian and world level competitions. He has also been the National Champion seven times.

Karam Lehal : Karam Lehal is an Indian skeet shooter.

Rakesh Manpat : Indian Male ShootersRakesh Manpat is an Indian shooter from Bengaluru. He completed his education from Jain University where he was in the junior division of NCC.

Ankur Mittal : Ankur Mittal is an Indian shooter. He stood second in the qualification round and thus qualified to the final of Men`s Double trap competition at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Asher Noria : Asher Noria is an Indian shooter. He has won several national and international medals for India. He is the only shooter in the world who has won the double trap event of the International Shooting Junior World Cup for two consecutive years.

Pemba Tamang : Pemba Tamang won the gold medal in the Men`s 25 meters rapid fire pistol (Pairs) with Vijay Kumar and the silver medal in the Men`s 25 meters rapid fire pistol at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Harihar Banerjee : Harihar Banerjee was an Indian sports shooter. He competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics and 1956 Summer Olympics.

Kynan Chenai : Kynan Chenai was born on 29th January in the year 1991, in Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana. He is an Indian shooter in the Trap discipline. He competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics having won the Asia Olympic Shooting qualifiers held in Delhi on 28th January 2016.

Roy Choudhury : Shooters in IndiaRoy Choudhury is an Indian former sports shooter. He competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics and the 1980 Summer Olympics.

Samaresh Jung : Samaresh Jung is an Indian sports shooter. He is an air pistol specialist. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, he won two gold medals, in the men`s free pistol pairs and in the open event of 25m standard pistol pairs, both in partnership with Jaspal Rana.

Souren Choudhury : Souren Choudhury was an Indian sports shooter. He competed in the 50 m rifle, prone event at the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Shagun Chowdhary : Shagun Chowdhary was born in the year 1983. He is an Indian shooter from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Shagun Chowdhary finished in 20th place in the trap shooting event at the 2012 Summer Olympics taking place in London. The Olympic Gold Quest supports Shagun Chowdhary.

Subedar Major Vijay Kumar : Subedar Major Vijay Kumar is a sport shooter from India. He won the silver medal in the individual 25 meters rapid fire pistol event at the 2012 Summer Olympics

Prakash Nanjappa : Prakash Nanjappa is an Indian shooter who competes in the 10 meters air pistol and 50 meters pistol events. He was the only Indian to win a medal in the 2013 ISSF World Cup, when he won bronze in 10 meter air pistol event in Changwon, South Korea.

Gagan Narang : Gagan Narang is an Indian shooter, in Air rifle shooting, supported by the Olympic Gold Quest. He was the first Indian to qualify for the London Olympics. He won the Bronze Medal in the Men`s 10 m Air Rifle Event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London with a final score of 701.1 on 30 July 2012.

Sanjeev Rajput : Sanjeev Rajput is an Arjuna Awardee Indian shooter from Yamuna Nagar District in Haryana.

Jitu Rai : Jitu Rai is a Nepali Bhasi Indian shooter of Indian Gorkha ethnic group who competes in the 10 meters air pistol and 50 meters pistol events. Government of India announced Khel Ratna Award for him in 2016.

Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore : Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is an Indian politician and a former professional shooter. As a shooter, competing in the double trap event, he won a silver medal in the 2004 Olympic Games.

Manavjit Singh Sandhu : Manavjit Singh Sandhu is an Indian sport shooter who specializes in trap shooting. He is a Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awardee in 2006 and Arjuna Awardee in 1998.

Haricharan Shaw : Haricharan Shaw is an Indian former sports shooter. He competed in the 50 meters rifle, three positions event at the 1956 Summer Olympics

Chain Singh : Chain Singh is an Indian sports shooter. He won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon in the men`s 50m rifle 3 positions event.

Devi Singh : Devi Singh is an Indian former sports shooter. He competed in the trap event at the 1964 Summer Olympics.

Gurpreet Singh : Gurpreet Singh is an Indian sports shooter. He won two gold medals in shooting events at the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in India.

Maharaja Karni Singh : Maharaja Karni Singh was born on 21st April in the year 1924. He was also known as Dr Karni Singh. He was from 1950 the last Maharaja of Bikaner State to hold the title of Maharaja of Bikaner, officially, till 1971, when the privy purse and all the royal titles were abolished by the Republic of India. He was an Indian shooter in colonial India.

Mansher Singh : Mansher Singh is hailing from Kolkata, West Bengal. He is an Indian Sport shooter who specializes in double trap and trap.

Ronjan Sodhi : Ronjan Sodhi is haling from Ferozepur District of Punjab. He is an Indian trap shooter. He won two silver medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games.

Anwer Sultan : Anwer Sultan is an Indian sports shooter. He competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, in the men`s trap

Raja Randhir Singh : Raja Randhir Singh is a former Olympic-level trap and skeet shooter and now sports administrator. He is a 1979 recipient of the Arjuna Award.

Ravi Kumar : Ravi Kumar is an Indian sport shooter. He won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon in the men`s 10m air rifle team event, along with Abhinav Bindra and Sanjeev Rajput.

Subedar (Honorary Captain) Fateh Singh : Subedar (Honorary Captain) Fateh Singh was a retired Indian Army JCO from the 15th Battalion of the Dogra Regiment and sport shooter in modern India.

Anjali Mandar Bhagwat : Anjali Bhagwat is a professional Indian shooter. She became the World Number One in 10m Air Rifle in 2002. She also won her first World Cup Final in Milan, in 2003, with a score of 399/400.

Apurvi Singh Chandela : Apurvi Singh Chandela is an Indian shooter who competes in the 10 meters air rifle event. She won the gold medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

Shweta Chaudhry : Shweta Chaudhry is an Indian shooter who competes in the 10 meters air pistol and 25 meters sports pistol events

Shagun Chowdhary : Shagun Chowdhary is an Indian shooter from Jaipur in Rajasthan. Shagun Chowdhary finished in 20th place in the trap shooting event at the 2012 Summer Olympics taking place in London.

Deepali Deshpande : Deepali Deshpande is an Indian sport shooter. Deepali Deshpande won a silver medal in rifle shooting at the 2004 Asian Shooting Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was selected to compete for India at the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing nineteenth in the rifle three positions. Deepali Deshpande also served throughout her sporting career as a member of the Indian Shooting Federation under her coaches Laszlo Szucsak and Sunny Thomas

Lajja Gauswami : Lajja Gauswami is an Indian woman shooter. She won the silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Pooka Ghatkar : Indian Female ShootersPooka Ghatkar is an Indian professional sports shooter. She competes in the women`s 10 meter air rifle event.

Malaika Goel : Malaika Goel is an Indian shooter. She won the silver medal in the Women`s 10m Air Pistol competition at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland

Pooka Ghatkar : Pooka Ghatkar is an Indian professional sports shooter. She competes in the women`s 10 meter air rifle event.

Saroja Kumari Jhuthu : Saroja Kumari Jhuthu is an Indian Shooter. She won the gold medal in the Women`s 25m Pistol (Pairs) with Sushma Rana at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Anuja Jung : Anuja Jung is an Indian Shooter. She won the gold medal in the Women`s 50m Rifle 3 Positions and the silver medal in Women`s 50m Rifle 3 Positions (Pairs) with Anjali Bhagwat at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Elizabeth Susan Koshy : Elizabeth Susan Koshy is an Indian shooter from Kerala. She made her international debut at the Junior meet in Germany in 2011 in which the Indian team was in sixth place. Koshy won five gold medals in Thiruvananthapuram at the State championship in the same year.

Bhuvaneshwari Kumari : Bhuvaneshwari Kumari is hailing from Kota District of Rajasthan. She is a distinguished sportswoman of India and a champion in trap shooting. She was awarded Arjuna Award in 1969.

Meena Kumari : Meena Kumari is an Indian shooter. She along with T Sawant won bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She is from Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh.

Maharajkumari Rajyashree Kumari : Maharajkumari Rajyashree Kumari is a former shooter from India. She was conferred the Arjuna Award in shooting in 1968.

Kavita Yadav : Indian Female ShootersKavita Yadav is an Indian woman sport shooter who won the bronze medal in Women`s 10 m Air Rifle (Pairs) in 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Varsha Varman : Varsha Varman is a professional Indian sport shooter and a member of the Indian Shooting Team. She is currently studying at Harvard University in the United States. She won the bronze medal for India at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon in the Women`s Double Trap team event.

Chandro Tomar : Chandro Tomar is an octogenarian and sharp shooter from the village of Johri in the Bagpat district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Shreyasi Singh : Shreyasi Singh is an Indian shooter who competes in the double trap event. She won a silver medal in the same event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland

Annu Raj Singh : Annu Raj Singh is an Indian shooter from Aligarh. She along with Heena Sidhu won the gold medal in women`s Pairs 10 meters air pistol at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in both the 10 meters air pistol and the 25 meters pistol.

Suma Shirur : Suma Shirur is a former Indian shooter who competed in the 10 meters air rifle event. She is a joint world record holder in the event, having scored the maximum of 400 points in the qualification round, which she achieved at the 2004 Asian Shooting Championships in Kuala Lumpur.

Anisa Sayyed : Anisa Sayyed is an Indian female pistol shooter who won two gold medals in 2010 Commonwealth Games. She also won a gold medal at the SAF games in 2006. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, she won a silver in the 25 m event.

Tejaswini Sawant : Tejaswini Sawant is an Indian shooter from the Maharashtrian city of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. She belongs to a Maratha family. Her father Ravindra Sawant was an officer in the Indian Navy.

Sushma Rana : Sushma Rana is a professional Indian shooter. She competes in 25-metres shooting events. She is the younger sister of Jaspal Rana.

Sonia Rai : Sonia Rai was born in Himachal Pradesh and brought up in Kangra. She is an Indian shooter, the first Indian pistol shooter to win a World Cup medal in WC Resende, Brazil in 2006.

Ayonika Paul : Ayonika Paul is an Indian shooter who competes in the 10 meter air rifle event.

Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat : Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat is a female athlete from India who competes in the event of 25 meters pistol shooting.

Avneet Kaur Sidhu : Avneet Kaur Sidhu is an Indian shooter. She won the gold medal in the Women`s 10m Air Rifle (Pairs) with Tejaswini Sawant at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
