Manavjit Singh Sandhu was born on 3rd November in the year 1976. He is an Indian sport shooter who specializes in trap shooting. He is awarded Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in the year 2006. He is also the recipient of Arjuna Award in the year 1998. He is a 3 time Olympian, having represented Indian Team at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games in the year 2008 at Beijing Olympic Games and the 2012 London Olympic Games.. Manavjit Singh Sandhu was educated at the Lawrence School, Sanawar.
Career of Manavjit Singh Sandhu
Manavjit Singh Sandhu won the gold medal at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships. From there, he is becoming the first Indian shotgun shooter to be crowned World Champion. His career in shooting started early and his interest developed mainly due to his father Gurbir Singh Sandhu. He is an Olympian and Arjuna Awardee, His education is from the Lawrence School Sanawar. He further has studied at the YPS Chandigarh, DPS New Delhi and the Venkateswara College, Delhi University.

Manavjit Singh Sandhu has won four silver medals at 1998 Asian Games, 2002 Asian Games and 2006 Asian Games. Manavjit Singh Sandhu won the gold medal at 1998 Commonwealth Games and the bronze medal in the trap event at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Manavjit Singh Sandhu has won six gold medals at the Asian Clay Shooting Championships. At the 2008 Olympics, Manavjit Singh Sandhu finished in 12th place, having finished tied 19th at the 2004 Olympics. In the year 2010, he won the Commonwealth Shooting Championship gold and the very next week bagged gold at the World Cup 2010 in Mexico. He is ranked no. 3 in the world. His highest ranking has been World no.1 in the year 2006. He won the Gold Medal at the World Cup 2014, Tucson, USA, on the 11th April 2014. Manavjit Singh Sandhu holds the Asian Record of 124 to 125 Targets.
