Salaam-E-Ishq, Indian MovieA remake of the 2003 Hollywood movie "Love Actually", the Indian romantic drama, Salaam-E-Ishq was the second directorial venture of Nikhil Advani in the year 2007. Featuring an ensemble cast, the movie weaves six love stories, which are interwoven with each other at some point in the narrative.

Plot of Salaam-E-Ishq
The movie Salaam-E-Ishq puts the spotlight on six couples belonging from different walks of life and in different stages of their life, each trying to resolve the predicament that love has put them in. There are six separate tracks to the story, the John Abraham and Vidya Balan track has the tragedy of an amnesiac woman who cannot remember her beloved husband. There is also a Hindu- Muslim side to their story as Tehzeeb, the character played by Vidya Balan is Muslim and Ashutosh, portrayed by John is a Hindu and their marriage was against the wishes of their families.

The Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra story is about an ambitious woman who has to abandon her dreams or lose her love. Then there is the plot of Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla, they have been married for almost 15 years and their story is of a man facing midlife boredom and considering adultery. The storyline of Govinda and the South African actress Shannon Esra is about a woman desperately seeking a man who does not want her.

Salaam-E-Ishq, Indian MovieThe last two plotlines are surrounding Akshaye Khanna and Ayesha Takia, this episode is about a man who wants to opt out of marriage and gets cold feet but instantly regrets it. Lastly, there is the storyline with Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar, which is about a newlywed Haryanvi couple unable to consummate their marriage.

With a run time of almost three hours, the movie wraps up on a high note as everyone gets their happy ending.

Written and directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Mukesh Talreja and Sunil Manchanda, the movie Salaam-E-Ishq was edited by Aarti Bajaj. The cinematography of the movie was done by Piyush Shah. The movie starred Akshaye Khanna, Ayesha Takia, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Govinda, Shannon Esra, Sohail Khan and Isha Koppikar in lead roles.
