Rajdher Fort

History of Rajdher Fort
The Rajdher Fort was built earlier than the Yadava reign but was under their control in the period from 1216 to 1217. The fort has been ruled by several dynasties in the past, including the Nizams, the Peshwas and even by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. In the year 1818, the Rajdher Fort was captured by the British Empire and remained under their control until the Indian Independence.

Overview of Rajdher Fort
The Rajdher Fort has a single gate as the main entrance, which has inscriptions in Farsi language. There is a rock cut water cistern on the fort, which is used for drinking all year round. The trek to the fort takes about an hour or two from the village of Rajdherwadi, which is located at the base of the fort.
