Gates of Maharashtra show the dynamic rule of Mughal Dynasty in medieval India and the Marathas along with the British Government in India in early and later half of modern history. Bhadkal Gate is one of the oldest gates in Maharashtra. This gate is the biggest gate in the ancient era of Aurangabad. This was the only gate built in Mughal era. It was built by Murtaza Nizamshah`s Vazir Malik Ambar, the ruler of Ahmadnagar, now located in Ahmednagar District. It was built in memory of victory against Mughal Empire in 1612. It is also known as "Victory Gate".

Paithan Gate was built by the Maratha ruler after the downfall of Mughals. This gate is smaller in size compared to other gates.
Bibi Ka Maqbara Gate of Maharashtra
Bibi Ka Maqbara Gate is the entrance of the famous tomb of Dilras Banu Begum, the mother of Azam Shah and the wife of Aurangazeb. It bears a striking resemblance to the famous Taj Mahal in Delhi.
