Districts of West Bihar

Districts of West Bihar is comprised of medieval monuments that were built by the different governors of Mughal era.

Here some of the districts are Arwal district, Bhojpur district, Buxar district, Gopalganj District, Jehanabad district, Kaimur district, Muzaffarpur District, Saran District and Siwan district.

Arwal District
Arwal district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar state, India, and Arwal town is the administrative headquarters of this district. It was earlier part of Jehanabad district.

Bhojpur District
Bhojpur District is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar state in northern India. Arrah town is the administrative headquarters of this district. The district came into existence in 1972, when Shahabad district was bifurcated into Bhojpur and Rohtas.

Buxar District
Buxar District is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar state, India. The district headquarters are located at Buxar.

Gopalganj District
Gopalganj District is one of the administrative districts in the Indian state of Bihar. The district headquarters is the town of Gopalganj, and the district is part of Saran Division. The major languages spoken are Bhojpuri language, Urdu language and Hindi language.

Jehanabad District
Jehanabad District is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar and Jehanabad town is the administrative headquarters of this district. Jehanabad district is a part of Magadh Division. Jehanabad district is 45 km from Patna, the capital of Bihar and 43 km from Gaya. Jehanabad, the main city is located on the confluence of two small rivers called Dardha River and Yamunaiya River. It is the heartland of Magadha and the local dialect is called Magahi.

Kaimur District
Kaimur District is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar. The district headquarters are located at Bhabua. Before 1991, it was part of Rohtas District, Bihar. Kaimur District occupies an area of 3363 square kilometers and has a population of 1,626,384. The district has a Literacy rate of 69.34%. Kaimur district is a part of Patna division. It is the westernmost district of Bihar, western point of Bihar called Chand is situated on the Bhabua-Chandauli road.

Muzaffarpur District
Muzaffarpur District is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar and Muzaffarpur city is the administrative headquarters of this district. Muzaffarpur district is a part of Tirhut Division. Muzaffarpur is one of the largest commercial and educational centers in North Bihar. It is famous for litchis which is a fruit famous for its juicy taste. Muzaffarpur is an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India. The district headquarters are located at Muzaffarpur.

Rohtas District
Rohtas District is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar. It came into existence when Shahabad District was bifurcated into Bhojpur and Rohtas in 1972. Rohtas district is a part of Patna Division, and it has an area of 3850 square kilometers, a population of 2,448,762 and a population density of 636 persons per square kilometers. The languages spoken in this area are Bhojpuri, Hindi and English.

Saran District
Saran District is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar state. The district, part of Saran Division is also known as Chhapra district after the headquarters of the district, Chhapra.

Siwan District
Siwan district is one of the districts of Bihar. Siwan town is the administrative headquarters of this district. Siwan district is a part of Saran Division since 1972. The town is known for its great past especially for First President of Indian Republic who belonged to Jeeradei.
