Filmfare Award for Best ChoreographyThe Filmfare Award for Best Choreography is awarded by Filmfare in its annual Filmfare Awards, to the choreographer(s) who incorporates the most impressive, appealing and appropriate dance steps and sequences into a song of a Hindi film of the preceding year. This category was introduced in the Filmfare Awards only in 1989, much later after the inception of awards in 1954.

Prominent Records in Filmfare Award for Best Choreography
Renowned choreographer Saroj Khan holds the record for the most number of wins in the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography, having won 8 awards. She is also the earliest recipient of this award, having won consecutively from its introduction in 1989 till 1991. These 3 consecutive wins also make her the recipient of most consecutive awards. Popular choreographer Farah Khan follows her with a total of 6 wins, of which 4 have been won by her on two occasions of 2 consecutive wins (1998 and 1999; 2001 and 2002). Choreographer Chinni Prakash and duo Bosco-Caesar have won the award 3 times each, with Bosco-Caesar winning two of theirs consecutively in 2012 and 2013. Choreographer Ahmed Khan has won the award twice.

Famous actress and dancer Madhuri Dixit is featured in 5 of the winning songs of the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography. Superstar Hrithik Roshan has featured in 4 winning songs. Filmfare Award for Best Choreography at 61st Filmfare Awards
In the 61st edition of Filmfare Awards of 2016, the song "Mohe Rang Do Laal" from the movie "Bajirao Mastani" of 2015 was honoured with the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography, and the song"s choreographer Pandit Birju Maharaj, an established Indian Kathak dancer, was presented the award.
