Districts of Chhattisgarh have substantial deposits of minerals and are inhibited by many tribal communities. These districts also serve as popular tourist places.

Districts of Chhattisgarh Districts of Chhattisgarh share the hilly regions, river basins and other areas of natural beauty. The whole of Chhattisgarh is virtually a treasure trove in terms of its mineral deposits, agriculture and power production. Ancient monuments, exotic wildlife, magnificent palaces, cascading waterfalls, exquisite rock paintings and dense forests characterize the state of Chhattisgarh. The state has substantial deposits of limestone, iron-ore, copper ore, rock phosphate, manganese ore, bauxite, coal, asbestos and mica. This state also has a rich cultural heritage with its unique dance, cuisine, music, and traditional folk songs.

Bastar district with its district headquarters at Jagdalpur is mostly covered with dense forests. Teak wood and white woods are used to make wooden crafts, which are in huge demand. The natural beauty of the district is a perfect tourist destination.

Bilaspur District is situated in the eastern part of Chattisgarh sprawling over a total area of 8,569 sq km. The Agaar, Maniyaar and Arpa are the major rivers flowing through the district.

Dantewada District is dominated by the tribal namely Muriyas / Dandami Mariyas or Gond tribe, Dorli, and Halba tribe. The hilly tracks, numerous brooks and rivers and dense forests surround the district. It is a paradise for the nature lovers and many different species of wildlife like the tiger, leopard, deer and bison are found here.

Districts of Chhattisgarh Dhamtari District is situated on the fertile plains covering an area of 4,081 sq. km. and produces huge quantities of rice.

Durg District is one the most populous district of Chhattisgarh. It occupies the southwestern part of the Upper Sheonath-Mahanadi valley. A major attraction of the district is the Maitry Bag.

Janjgir-Champa District is situated in the centre of Chattisgarh. The district headquarters is located at Janjgir.

Jashpur District in the northern part of Chattisgarh covers an area of 6,457 sq. km. The popular tourist destinations here are Kotebira Eb River, waterfalls of Danpuri, Rajpuri, Rani Dah and Bhringraj, and the Kunkuri Cathedral.

Kanker District dominated by the tribal communities has major tourist destination, which are Gadiya Mountain, Malanjhkudum waterfall, Charre-Marre waterfall, and Shivani Maa Temple.

Kawardha District is located on the southern banks of the Sakri River. The major attractions of the district are the Sahaspur Wildlife Sanctuary, Pushpa Sarovar Lake, and Saroda Reservoir.

Korba District of Chattisgarh is the homeland of the Korba tribe.

Korea District is situated on the northeastern part of Chattisgarh. The district headquarters is located at Baikunthpur.

Mahasamund District covers an area of 4,963 sq. km. This place is famous for numerous temples. This district is a major tourist and pilgrimage destination. The prominent places are Sirpur, Shwethganga, Khallarimatha Temple, Ghaudhara, and Chandi Temple.

Raigarh District is famous for its cottage industries, which produce Kosa sarees and dress materials of export quality. Kamla Nehru Park, Indira Vihar Park, Shri Shyam Mandir, Banjari Mandir and Chandrahasini Devi Temple are the major attractions of the district.

Rajnandgaon district covers an area of 8,023 sq. km. The Gond Tribe Kanwar, Halba Tribe and the Baiga tribe inhabit the district.

Sarguja district is located in the northern part of Chhattisgarh and dominated by the tribal community. It is worth visiting the district for its panoramic beauty.
