Diphu Pass

Situated at an elevation of 4, 587 m, the Diphu Pass is a mountain pass located on the eastern end of the Himalayan Mountain Range, which serves as the primary crossing point there. The Diphu Pass lies on the McMahon Line and is the tri junction of India, China and Myanmar. This is a traditional pass which provides an easy and shortest access to Mandalay, Myanmar and remains open throughout the year for transportation and trade.

Diplomatic Row over Diphu Pass
In October 1960, the border of China and Burma was demarcated to Diphu Pass which is 5 miles south of the watershed of the mountain ranges. This led to a diplomatic row India, which expected the tri-point to be at the watershed. This dispute over the Diphu Pass has now become part of the ongoing border disagreement between India and China regarding Arunachal Pradesh
