Paliem Sweet Water Lake
Paliem Sweet Water Lake is situated between Keri beach to the north and Arambol beach to the south. This fresh water lake is defined as a tiny cove. The noteworthy aspects of this lake are its sweet water and the yellow mud. This yellow mud is also known as the cleansing mud. This is because it is believed to have beneficial properties and therapeutic qualities. It can cleanse ones body. Therefore, tourists are spotted here taking mud bath.
Mayem Lake is located almost at a distance of 35 km from Panaji, in the Bicholim taluka of Goa. The Mayem is surrounded by green hills. Boating on this lake is a fun filled possibility or option for the adventurous tourists. As a result of the initiative taken by the Goa Tourism Development Department, a boating area and a resort have been developed in the lake area.
The Sarzora Lake is located approximately 8 km away from Margao. It is considered to be one of Goa’s secluded places. It is defined as a man made or artificial lake. The attractive features of this lake are lush green fields, the serene landscape, a variety of birds and surrounding forest cover on two sides. The water of the lake can be utilized for irrigation purposes.
Carambolim Lake is located about 12 kilometers away from Panaji, in the heart of Carambolim Village. It is fed by monsoon rain. This artificial and manmade lake is an ideal site for bird lovers. Some of the bird species found at the Carambolim Lake site are Pintail Ducks, Cattle Egret, Little Egret, etc.
Curtorim Lake is situated in South Goa. This lake provides shelter to migratory birds at different times of the year. Boating is a fun filled possibility on this lake.
Netravali Lake is located in the village of Netravali. It is also called the Bubble Lake as bubbles rise continuously to the surface of the lake in various places. The centre of this lake is adorned with a huge granite pedestal. This lake is revered by the local people as a place of religious significance.
