The state of Himachal Pradesh has two noteworthy libraries. These are Himachal Pradesh University Library and Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA). The former library has almost 2 lakh books and has space to accommodate about 450 readers and a total of 100 research scholars on separate floors in various cubicles. The latter library has a total of about 80000 manuscripts
, journals, reading materials, 600 statues and other materials, which symbolize the rich Buddhist
