National Geoscience Museum in Gwalior

The GSI (Geological Survey of India) Geoscience Museum in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, is an exceptional attraction housed in the historic Victoria Building. The National Geoscience Museum in Gwalior was inaugurated on December 18, 2024, by the then Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, through a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque. 

During the inauguration ceremony, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar also felicitated Shri R.V. Karanth, Retired Professor of M.S. University, Baroda, in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the gemstone gallery. His generous support in sharing his personal collection of gemstones with the Geological Survey of India further enriched the museum’s exhibits and enhanced its educational value.
