History of Sri Amarsagar Teerth
According to history Sri Amarsagar Teerth dates back to the ancient times. This teerth is a part of the Jaisalmer group of five teerths. The idol of Bhagwan Rishabh Dev is believed to belong to the times of King Samprati. As per reference the idol was installed by Patva Sheth Himataramji bafna by the auspicious hands of the revered Acharya Shri Jinamahendrasurishvarji in the year 1928 of the Vikram Samvat Era. The Shatrunjaya Pilgrimage led by Bafna brothers of this place is very famous. Here the mines of yellow stone also known as the Jaisalmer stone are very famous. It is said that the old teertha was rebuilt by Sheth Shri Bafna. The idol of Bhagwan Rishabh Dev is believed to possess miraculous powers. Thousands of Jains and non Jains from far off places visit the temple to offer their prayers. It is believed that if prayed with all devotion the Lord fulfils the wishes of the pilgrims.

The Temple of Sri Amarsagar Teerth houses the idol of Bhagwan Rishabh Dev. The Swetambara temple has been magnificently decorated with intricate artistic designs. The creative temple work boast about the skills of the craftsmen. The walls and pillars of the temple are adorned with specimens of ancient art and paintings. This two storied beautiful temple is built with famous yellow stone of Jaisalmer. The sculptural work of the temple is looks stunning and can be regarded as a fine specimen of art. The assembly hall of the temple is very beautiful and full of carvings. The stone nets on all the sides of the temple are very delightful to see. The idol of the Lord is 75 cm in height and is white in colour. It is seated in a padmasana posture. The idol has been beautifully carved from a single stone and looks very appealing. The smiling face of the Lord looks very calm and serene. Apart from this there are two other temples located on the bank of the pond. There are two Dadawadis. The idols in this temple are large and look impressive. They are nearly 1500 years old.
The Temple of Sri Amarsagar Teerth organises many annual gatherings and functions. There are provisions for dharamshalas or rest houses for the pilgrims. These are well equipped with all modern facilities. Apart from this there are Upashrays, an Ayambilshala and a Jnanabhandar. The teertha is situated amidst beautiful natural surroundings. The temple is enclosed by scenic beauty that mesmerises and fascinates the pilgrims. The garden is situated in front of the temple that serves as a resting place for the pilgrims. The calm and tranquil environment and the surrounding greenery make it a suitable place for religious activities. The kshetra is well connected to road, rail and air.
