Sangthang peak is one of the beautiful peaks nestled in the Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand state of India. It is the Himalayan peak, belonging to the Kumaon Himalayas. It is located in the easternmost part of Kumaon, lining Byans valley. The peak is positioned on Indo-Tibet border. The altitude of the Sangthang peak is 6,480 m.
The surrounding of the peak is mesmerising. It lies near to Jolingkong Lake and the famous Himalayan passes of Mangshya Dhura and Shin La. The Sangthang Peak is technically difficult to climb. It was climbed for the first time by P. Dasgupta in 1968. The peak can be approached via Darma Ganga valley.
