According to Indian Mythology goddess Vindhyavasini is believed to be the bestower of blessings. Goddess Kali is worshipped in the form of Vindhyavasini Devi. Popularly called as the Kajala devi the presiding deity in the temple is considered as the embodiment of love and benediction. This temple has found its rendering in the holy scriptures of Hindu religion and it has got a tremendous impact in the life of a devout Hindu.

The temple often witnesses large gathering and it became a human ocean on the eve of Navaratri festival which falls in the month of April and October. During the month of June, the premises witnesses kajali competition in which large number of people took part. During Navratras in Chaitra (April) and Ashwin (October) months big congregations are held. In the month of June kajali competitions are held.
