Screen Awards for Best Playback Singer MaleScreen Awards is a prestigious award ceremony dedicated to Hindi film industry. It is held to commemorate the film personalities of Bollywood for their professional excellence. The awards are presented by the film fraternity itself and the winners and nominations are selected by a panel of jury members. The award was started in the year 1994 and is conducted every year since then. It is the only award ceremony which has been attended by the Executive Director and the Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

20th Screen Awards
20th Screen Awards was organized on 14th January 2014 to honour the best films of the year 2013. It was aired on Life Ok channel on 25th January 2014. The grand event was anchored by Shahrukh Khan. The films of 2013 featured some phenomenal playback singers of Hindi film industry who rendered an enchanting musical dimension to the movies. The nominations for Screen Awards For Best Playback Singer Male included Benny Dayal for `Badtameez Dil` (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani), Amit Trivedi for `Manja` (Kai Po Che!), Raju Singh for `Rooh Mein` (Club 60), Siddharth Mahadevan for `Zinda` (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag) and Arijit Singh for `Tum Hi Ho` (Aashiqui 2). The award was won by Arijit Singh.

Arijit Singh
Arijit Singh is a prominent name in Indian music industry, known for his versatile and soulful singing. He stepped in the entertainment world with the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005. Although he did not win the competition, he garnered much praise for his renditions. This trained classical singer started singing in films since 2007 but shot to fame through his songs in the Bollywood blockbuster Aashiqui 2. His song `Tum Hi Ho` became a huge hit topping the charts.
