Shri Lotana Teerth, GujaratShri Lotana Teerth located in Gujarat is a Jain pilgrimage centre. The teerth kshetra is situated on a hillock in the vicinity of Lotana village which is at a distance of 20 km from the railway station of Shirohi Road in Rajasthan. The temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Rishabh Dev, the first Jain Tirthankara.

History of Shri Lotana Teerth
According to history Shri Lotana Teerth dates back to the ancient times. The Lotana village was earlier known as Latipurapattana or Lotanaka. The main idol of the temple of Bhagwan Rishabh Dev belongs to the time of the 13th renovation of Shri Shatrunjaya teerth. This teerth thus holds great significance. As per reference the idol of the Lord was constructed and installed by Durlabha, the son of Koreshvara. It is said that the idol was brought from Shatrunjaya and ceremoniously installed here. The temple was last repaired and renovated in 2016 of the Vikram Samvat Era. The deity is believed to possess great miraculous powers. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees from different places. It is said that by worshipping the Lord with full devotion one can get all their wishes fulfilled.

The temple of Shri Lotana Teerth houses the idol of Bhagwan Rishabh Dev. The temple has been intricately decorated with beautiful artistic designs. It stands as a unique example of ancient architectural beauty. The idol of the Lord is white in colour and is 75 cm in height. It is seated in a padmasana posture. The temple has a central inner chamber that has been attractively decorated. Other than this a deep enclosed pandal as well as an assembly pandal adorns the beauty of the temple. There are six chowkis one of which is Shrunghara chowki and a fort in the temple premises that are worth seeing. Apart from the main idol there are few other idols installed in the temple. A Kayotsarga idol in standing can be seen. An inscription of V.S. 1144 has been carved on the idol. On two other idols of the similar type is also instated. An inscription written on the fifth day of the month Jeth of V.S. 1130 is found here.

The Temple of Shri Lotana Teetha organises many annual gatherings and functions. There are provisions for dharamshalas or rest houses for the pilgrims. These are well equipped with all modern facilities. Being located in a hillock near the Lotana village, the temple is surrounded by scenic beauty that attracts and mesmerises the pilgrims. The calm and tranquil environment makes it a suitable place for religious activities. The kshetra is well connected to road, rail and air. Taxi services and bus services are easily available here. The nearest bus stop is located at Sirohi at a distance of 20 km. Busses and taxies are easily available for the kshetra. The nearest railway station is also located at Sirohi. The closest airport is situated at Ahmedabad.
