According to history Shri Dantpatak Teerth dates back to the ancient times. Ruins of many temples and idols can be seen here. Many stone inscriptions can be seen here that proves that this place is as old as 11th century A.D. In 1236 of the Vikram Samvat Era revered Acharya Shri Vijaysom Suriswarji established the kingdom of Roul Raja Gajsinhji. Later a new temple was constructed and the idol was reinstalled in it. The old temple was declared to be a reserved location as a dam was constructed in the vicinity.
