Shanti Stupa in Delhi

Shanti Stupa in Delhi is a Buddhist monument which inspires universal peace. It has a traditional Japanese garden.

Shanti Stupa, DelhiShanti Stupa is positioned in Indraprastha Park at the centre or heart of Delhi. This monument of Delhi distributing the message of peace is also called the "World Peace Pagoda". It was inaugurated in the month of November in the year 2007. The Shanti Stupas are monuments conceptualized by Fujji Guruji, a monk from Japan to promote peace and non-violence in the world. There are about 6-7 such Shanti Stupas in India in the places like Rajgir, Darjeeling, Bhubaneshwar, Ladakh, Vaishali and Wardha.

Structure of Shanti Stupa
Shanti Stupa stands 28 metres tall and is completely built with white marble and carries a golden peak. Visited by many famous leaders, it has received many sacred objects and relics, from them. The architecture takes its form from the Sanchi Stupa located in Madhya Pradesh. It also has a beautiful Japanese garden surrounding it.

Visiting Information of Shanti Stupa
The Indira Gandhi International Airport is connected with other parts of the city by Delhi metro. There are three railway stations in Delhi, the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station and the new and old Delhi Railway stations. One can avail bus or taxi from the airport or railway station to reach the Shanti Stupa.
