Raghunath Temple in Sikar

Raghunath Temple, located in Sikar district of Indian State of Rajasthan, was built by Rao Raja Shiv Singh.

Raghunath Temple is an ancient Hindu Temple situated in Sikar district of Indian State of Rajasthan. The temple, regarded as an important pilgrimage centre, was built by Rao Raja Shiv Singh. As per historical records, the temple priest was gifted 350 bighas of agricultural land by Sikar Jagir Rao Raja Shiv Singh.

History of Raghunath Temple
Rao Raja Shiv Singh known to have built several forts and palaces in Sikar had earned great name and fame among all the other Rao Raja of Sikar. Identified as a religious man and a great warrior Shiv Singh was also a lover of art. He thus, patronised it by construction monuments. He was later succeeded by Rao Samrath Singh, Rao Nahar Singh and Rao Chand Singh. Rao Devi Singh later ascended to the throne after Chand Singh. He is known to have built forts in Raghunathgarh and Deogarh. The Ramgarh Shekhawati was founded by him. He died in the year 1795.
