Pansar Jain Teerth serves is a Jain pilgrimage centre. Pansar is a village in Kalol Taluk in Gandhinagar District of Gujarat. Pansar is about 6.2 km far from its Taluk Main Town, Kalol. This temple is dedicated to Lord Mahavira and the sect of Shwetambar. History of Pansar Jain Teerth
According to history, the beautiful and miraculous idol of Mahavira had appeared from the ground in the year 1966. After the discovery of the idol a beautiful temple was built. On the 6th day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh in the year 1974 of the Vikram Samvat Era, the idol was formally installed in the temple. Apart from this idol, five other ancient idols were also found from the ground in the year 1991. This holy place is also renowned for many miracles that took place earlier.
Architectural Design of Pansar Jain Teerth
The Pansar Jain Teerth is intricately designed with architectural work. The minute carvings and the ancient works of the craftsmen of the temple speak highly of its antiquity. This temple has three peaks and seven inner apartments. In all the seven, white marble-idols of Shri Mulanayaka are installed. The structure of the principal deity of Pansar Jain Teerth, Lord Mahavira is nearly 91 cms in height and is white in colour. The idol is seated in a Padmasana or lotus posture. The rest of the idols of metal are of Panchatirthi etc. A Jalmandir has also been constructed in the compound of the main temple of Pansar.
