Eastern part of India comprises of the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Eastern part of India has both private as well as public libraries. A private library belongs to an individual. A public library is accessible to all those people who pay subscription to it and are enrolled as members. There are also free public libraries.

SNTI Library is housed in Jamshedpur, the headquarters of the East Singhbhum district.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands serves as a home to State Library and Central Library of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS). They are located in Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
