Education in Telangana

Education in Telangana is dealing with the presence of educational institutions which are affiliated from Government of Telangana and Government of India.

The population of Telangana accounts for almost half the total population of Andhra Pradesh state. In the year 2011, Andhra Pradesh was included with Telangana. The literacy rate of Andhra Pradesh is 61.11 percent which is less when compared to other southern neighbouring states. Comparing other states in South India are Karnataka 67.04 percent, Tamil Nadu 73.47 percent, Kerala 90.92 percent and Maharashtra 77.27 percent.

Education in Telangana has numerous institutes of higher education universities along with numerous primary and secondary schools.

The regional and official language of Telangana is Telugu language, English language and Hindi Language. Other linguistic groups in the state include Urdu language.

Education in Telangana is offered through a number of institutes spread across the state. In Telangana the education system is of 10+2 system before joining under graduation. First standard to tenth standard classes are conducted by the School Education under the administration of the School Education Department and finally the Tenth Class (S.S.C.)

The Public examination at state level is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education. After this two year of Intermediate Education, under the administration of the Board of Intermediate Education the newly formed state in India, Telangana provides reservation in higher education to weaker sections of society on the pattern of Tamil Nadu, by passing the 50% limit.

Telangana, with the capital Hyderabad, has a number of public and private schools and these are either affiliated to the State Board or Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE or ICSE.
