Darrang Mounted Rifles
Darrang Mounted Rifles was an infantry regiment that operated under the Volunteer Corps of the British Indian Army. It was formed on 3rd June 1887
The military battalion was re-designated as the Darrang Mounted Rifles on 15th February 1889. The infantry regiment took part in a number battles and conquests under the British administration. The Darrang Mounted Rifles was merged with various other Volunteer Rifle Corps in order to raise the Assam Valley Mounted Rifles on 6th November 1891.
