Chausat Yogini Temple is located at Bheraghat of Jabalpur preserving 64 yoginis and 15 other female goddesses. The temple also enshrines Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha. This temple is positioned atop a hillock that can be reached by covering long steps. The temple offers a panoramic view of Narmada River traversing through the rough marble rocks. This 10th century temple is devoted to Goddess Durga. Chaunsat Yogini Temple is popularly known for its gracefully carved marble figures of different deities, especially of the Kalchuri period. There are several legends associated with Chaunsat Yogini Temple of Jabalpur. Like for instance, as per one popular legend Chaunsat Yogini Temple was connected with the palace of Queen Durgavati through a secretive passage.
