Shakti , Indian movieThis Indian movie Shakti did good business in the box office as it stars the two biggest stars of Bollywood of that time Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. The film was written by Salim-Javed. This was a big time hit containing some hit dialogues. The director amalgamated Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan`s confrontation, emotion and drama in an excellent way. Both were superstars and coupling for the first time so excitement was something different.

Plot of the Indian movie `Shakti`:
The Indian movie `Shakti` is the first film of the duo Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar. The story starts from present where Ashwini Kumar played by Dilip Kumar is an honest cop who narrates the story to his grandson played by Anil Kapoor, who also wants to join the police force.

During his reign Ashwini Kumar was an honest police officer, for whom duty to the nation was above everything. He is telling the story about his son to his grandson and goes back to past. His only son Vijay Kumar played by Amitabh Bachchan is kidnapped by one of the ferocious gangsters JK Verma played by Amrish Puri. Shakti , Indian movieJK Verma comes with a demand of releasing his accomplices from Ashwini Kumar`s jail. He is actually a dangerous criminal whom Ashwini Kumar has arrested. Ashwini Kumar becomes confused as JK gives condition that otherwise he will kill his son Vijay. Though Vijay`s mother played by Rakhee Gulzar requests Ashwini Kumar to take their son back, he refuses to release the criminal as his duty always comes first before his personal life. Vijay decides to run away from the criminals and eventually be becomes succeeded in his plan.

But in his lifetime Vijay always remembers the incidents. The story goes forward. Now Vijay is grown up. He goes against to his father and starts living with a girl named Roma played by Smita Patil. The girl has a guest room which she gives on rent. They become fall in love and marry without the consent of his parents. Vijay becomes derailed from his path and starts working with some wrong people like K.D Narang played by Kulbhushan Kharbanda. He was the one who helps Vijay to run away from JK`s group in his childhood. Since then Vijay thinks it as a great favour and decides to help Narang in his illegal works. The constant problem between Narang and JK resulted into Vijay working as a bodyguard of Narang. Amidst this, Amitabh`s mother Raakhee Gulzar is killed. Vijay is furious. He kills JK. Law must take its course, eventually Vijay is killed by his father.
