History of Bhainsrorgarh Fort
An ancient fortified outpost for the kingdom of Mewar, the Bhainsrorgarh Fort is said to be built by Rawat Lal Singh around the year 1740. The fort held great importance to the Chundawat clan of Sisodia Rajputs, as it was granted to Rao Chunda after he renounced the Mewar throne for his yet to be born younger brother. Over the years, the fort passed through the hands of several clans, even the Turks held it for a brief period during the medieval India.

Currently, the Bhainsrorgarh Fort is almost 279 years old and has been converted into a luxury heritage hotel. It is run by the erstwhile royal family and is a very popular tourist spot.

Bhainsrorgarh is located 235 km northeast of Udaipur and 50 km south of Kota. The Kota railway station is the nearest at a distance of 60 km from the fort and the Kota Airport is the closest at a distance of 53 km from the Bhainsrorgarh Fort.
