An annual far takes place to commemorate his services to the poorer sections of the society in the month of August or September.

According to the legends Ramdeo was born in 1458 as a Rajput of the Tomar clan. He devoted his entire life to the distressed poor and the backward castes. While getting to his temple the tourists will come across a massive red sandstone gateway with a suspended bell for pilgrims to ring. Baba Ramdeo Temple in Rajasthan is located at a distance of about 10 km from Jaisalmer. There are several small chhatris with carvings of heroes on horseback and many toy horses.

The wooden door of the main shrine is exquisitely carved depicting Baba Ramdeo with a typical Rajput curled beard and moustache. The main temple has a dark room with a platform on which life-size model horses, including one of silver rests. 3 small graves are also to be found and before these stands the silver statue of baba Ramdeo wearing a crown, with a pink silk cloth around the neck and a garland of jasmine and marigold.
