Aurangabad division is one of the seven administrative divisions of Maharashtra. It is formed to administer the state of Maharashtra in independent India. It lies in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, which was the part of Mughal and later it came in the hands of Peashwars of Maratha. This division has vast tourism destinations, which is attracted by the global tourists.

Aurangabad District
Aurangabad District, which is also called Sambhaji Nagar District, is one of the 36 districts of Maharashtra. It is bordered by Nashik District to the west, Jalgaon District to the north, Jalna District to the east and Ahmednagar District to the south. Aurangabad is the headquarters and principal city.
