Arabian Sea is located north of Indian Ocean. It has a surface area of about 3,862,000 square kilometers, maximum width of about 2,400 km and maximum depth of about 4,652 m. This water body contributes to the economy of India by serving as a marine trade route and housing major ports. Arabian Sea also has a Mini Zoo, which acts as its tourism product.
Mini Zoo
Mini Zoo is situated in Haddo, off the Delanipur-Chattam Road in Port Blair. More specifically, this zoo is located within the premises of a Forest Museum. The names of some of the species protected in the Mini Zoo are Nicobar pigeon, Andaman pig and Andaman gecko. This small zoo is involved in breeding and farming of crocodiles, which have made this zoo famous. It has been provided with a crocodile farm from where the crocodiles are later released into the coastal mangrove swamps. Names of the trees situated here are padauk, rosewood and marble wood.
