Damdama Lake is located in Sohna of Gurgaon district in Haryana. The water of the hot springs in Damdama Lake is strongly sulphurous. According to the mythological legends, Lord Arjuna, one of the ablest sons of King Pandu in Mahabharata, the hot springs were created when he was thirsty. Tourism of Damdama Lake covers with an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. The temple is located in Sohna and was built by the Ruler of Bharatpur. Bharatpur has the capital in Gwalior. Every year on the occasion of Shiva Chaudas and Shiva Ratri, the villagers of Sohna offer their special prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Bhagwati. The villagers offer prayer for the new born babies and newly married couples. Near Damdama Lake, there holds a village fair every year. This delightful handloom and handicrafts fair is held here annually in February. The skilled artisans from all over the country display the rich crafts tradition of western and northern India in the typical setting of a rural Indian marketplace.
