Location of Cheppad Village
It is located at Alleppy district (presently called Alappuzha) in the southern state of Kerala. It is situated 45 Km north of Kollam and is about mid-way between Kochi and Thiruvananathapuram on NH 4. It falls under Karthikapally taluka. The nearby villages of Cheppad are Arattupuzha, Haripad, Kumarapuram, Karthikappally, Chingoli, Pathiyoor, Keerikkad, Muthukulam, Kandalloor, Puthuppally and Krishnapuram.

The village has a well-known church, which is the major attraction of the place. It is the Orthodox Syrian Christian Church popularly known as Cheppad Church. Dedicated to St George, this church has porches and portico built in the style of typical Hindu temples. With mural paintings and woodcarvings, this church attracts a large number of devotees. Vettikkulangara Bhagavathy Temple, noted for its wooden sculptures, is another attraction of Cheppad.
