The state of Chattisgarh possesses a rich tradition in the field of theatre and stage productions and the institution of IPTA (Indian People`s Theatre Association) located at Raigarh district is quite famous. This organization was established in 1982 and is responsible for the production of theatrical plays in this state. IPTA Raigarh has been participating in numerous theatre festivals and events in various Indian cities like Aurangabad, Raipur, Jabalpur, Allahabad, Delhi, Patna, Ratlam and others. Some talented actors, which included child artists have also acted in a film entitled `Chutakan Ki Mahabharat` which was produced by the Children`s Film Society of India. It was directed by Sankalp Meshram and it received the National Award for the Best Children`s Film in the year 2005, awarded by the Government of India.
