History of Princely State of Garmali Moti
The native ruler of the princely state of Garmali Moti, who held the title of Talukdar, was a Vala Kathi. The native rulers of the state were in charge of supervision of the administration of the state; where as the Resident of British India, also known as the Political Agent, managed the associations of the state with the British Government and other states. The Garmali Moti State was a non- jurisdictionary native state. Garmali Moti state paid annual tribute to the princely state of Baroda and the princely state of Junagadh. According to the Attachment Scheme of 1943, the princely state of Garmali Moti was attached to the princely state of Baroda.
After the withdrawal of the British and the independence of India on 15th August 1947, the last native ruler acceded his state to the newly formed Union of India, also known as the Dominion of India. The erstwhile princely state is presently a part of the Indian state of Gujarat.
